Position: Client Sales Representative – Charleston, SC 

Overview:

Barter Brokers International (BBI) creates and facilitates a trading exchange among businesses in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and New Jersey.  BBI also participates in The Universal Currency and The International Barter Alliance.  This provides a combined network of over 350 barter associates around the world. Through its affiliation with these networks, BBI has provided its members with local and national buyers and sellers for more than 22 years.

Job Summary:

The inside sales and customer service liaison is responsible for increasing trade revenue with members by identifying and pursuing new trading opportunities while providing quality customer service.

Job Functions:

  • Generate trade transactions among member businesses through phone and email contacts.
  • Follow up on leads and develop a working knowledge of accounts.
  • Determine and recommend products to new and current customers to increase total average sales.
  • Provide superior customer service and assist with related duties (processing trade transactions, confirming order logistics).
  • Enhance sales by cross selling, up-selling and developing promotions for designated members.
  • Become knowledgeable of member products and services, industry terminology and company operations.
  • Educate businesses and prospects about procedures and benefits of being a member.
  • Post and distribute digital newsletters, announcements and updates on social media.
  • Provide support and work with outside sales representatives.
  • Assist when necessary with out of office duties and functions as deemed necessary.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills within an evolving, fast-paced environment.
  • Energetic, motivated self-starter with a proven track record of building sales and/or previous customer service experience.
  • Proactive, able to work independently and as a team player.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines including sales targets.
  • Time-oriented and highly organized.
  • Utilize CRM software to maintain pertinent account details including working knowledge of using digital and social media.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft applications, keyboard skills and sales entry software.
  • Experience in sales/customer service related fields.
  • Driver’s license and well maintained vehicle.
  • Bachelors Degree.

Job Summary:

Business Development Executives achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration by effectively selling membership service benefits to company owners to enhance their business.  S/he personally contacts and secures new business accounts/ customers.  In exchange our business development executives will receive a generous commission structure and an unlimited earning potential.

Core Functions:

  • Promotes/sells/secures membership applications from prospective businesses through a relationship-based approach.
  • Demonstrates services and benefits to potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.

Details of Functions:

  • Plans and organizes personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment.
  • Analyzes the market potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers.
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with prospective businesses and current members to generate new business sales.
  • Makes telephone calls, utilizes email and in-person visits and presentations to prospective customers.
  • Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting and technical service groups.
  • Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competition, activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keeps abreast of applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent sources.
  • Participates in trade shows and conferences.

Reporting:

  • Reports directly to the principal of the company.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess business-to-business sales experience.
  • Full-time commitment and ability to achieve sales quota and performance.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
  • Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Desire to be part of a growing and dynamic organization.
